When things were perfect...

Words cannot describe how beautiful my wedding turned out to be. The sweet little DIY details, the colours, the butterflies and flowers are all the ingredients of a perfect wedding!

As soon as we decided to have our wedding I started buying coloured papers, pens, ribbons, buttons and even fabric even though I didn't have the slightest idea of what I was going to do with those. I started making paper pom poms (hundreds of them!) with every colour possible. Without even discussing what our theme colour will be we both settled for multicolored decor because both of us love colours.

When we handed over invitations to some of our invitees they simply went "wow!" and most of them told us that it was one of a kind! Isuru (my husband) was thrilled, he just sat there in front of his computer and designed it in 20 minutes without any help from anyone.

Our wedding was just a casual reception with close friends and family, most of the decorations were done outside with the help of a bunch of adorable friends who helped us throughout the wedding. This is something we had on top of the lane leading to Isuru's house so that people can find the place easily. One of my friends made this sign board using felt balls and permanent markers. Isn't it cute?

There were some gas balloons attached to this board, unfortunately no one has photographed them.

Dainty paper flowers

My friend Anna made some Butterflies using  a cellophane foam and pens she got from Austria.  They added colour and elegance to the beautiful morning!

Felt ball curtains

Felt ball and fabric backdrop Anna made for us. We used this to take the group pictures.

I made these boards day before the wedding. They became one of the highlights of our wedding decor.

Picture props- I made a lot of fun props, people always knew we were crazy... This just proved how crazy we can get.

Now we look back at the images of everything from incredibly crazy photo shoot, tiniest DIY details, the decor and the remarkably enjoyable and peaceful reception with friends and family, we just can't imagine how we did it all with the lowest cost anyone could ever imagine and just how marvelous it was…with a little (okay a whole lot of) help from our friends (and family).

Thanks a lot for reading...
Much Love
